My MLM Story
Hi my name is Garry Gnapp and a big warm welcome to my website.Congratulations – You have just embarked on what may prove to be the most exciting and rewarding journey of your life as you have already made the decision to take control of your own life – otherwise you wouldn’t be here!
Multi Level Marketing/Network Marketing as you may have already discovered is a very misunderstood business model in the big wide world. But let me assure you, you are on the right track. MLM is, without doubt the fairest business model ever developed and truly does offer the potential for you to develop a huge residual income and importantly the time freedom to enjoy it. I like to call it a ‘lifestyle income’.
I appreciate that you may have already found an MLM company that you love and if you have, that’s great. I can promise you that if you take action and apply what you learn here, you stand a much greater chance of succeeding in the MLM Industry, and I will help you in every way I can to help you succeed with your chosen MLM company.
However, I have found that many people who visit my Blog have not found a home. Everyday I meet people who are floundering, many who have joined multiple companies in the hope that one will just take off and make them rich.
So I am using this section to share a little of my 15 year journey to success and freedom in the MLM industry.
Since completing my Degree in Business Studies (specialising in Marketing) I worked for various employers before starting my own business in 1985, which has the proud accolade of being one of the few businesses that survived the harsh realities of our competitive world for more than 20 years!!
I am a great believer in doing something for a living that makes you happy, something that provides you with a purpose. This might go someway to explaining my career choice as a professional Skydiver with over 8,000 skydives over the last 32 years – a fun career that has taken me around the globe!
In 1990 I started my own Skydiving Centre in Australia which was a great success, winning a Tourism Award in 1992 against 40 nominations and finalists in the Telstra Small Business of the Year Award in 1994 and 1995.
BUT I worked VERY hard for what I now realise was a limited income that totally relied on the weather!! And I got fed up with employing people – it was like running an adult day care centre and lots of deadlines, HUGE overheads and constant stress.
Years ago, a lady who worked for me at the Skydiving Centre asked if I had heard of Network Marketing. I hadn’t but had an open mind. When I looked into it I was fascinated by the business model – with my marketing background, it made so much sense and so I began a 10 year journey discovering that finding the best MLM company to partner with is not easy! It’s a jungle out there!!
If you are having the same ‘learning experience’ you know what I mean!
The first company I joined was Amway, but let’s just say, it didn’t gel with me – enough said! The second company I joined was a new start up company in Australia. I was excited about being involved in a new start up and at the time thought it was an advantage to ‘get in at the beginning’. I did really well and was consistently ‘Distributor of the Month’- until they went bust and 2 years of work went down the drain! Ouch!!
The home business revolution is filled with hype and thousands of get-rich-quick schemes designed to pray on people at their most vulnerable. The failure rate of new companies (even when they take off with a bang) is staggering.
Since then I have seen dozens of new ‘hot’ companies come and go - My advice is that you need to partner with a well established company that has survived a start up period of at least five years.
So I joined a number of companies and found it’s just like any marriage or relationship, you really don’t know someone until you’ve lived with them for some time! For all manner of reasons they just weren’t right – management issues, product problems, you name it I saw it.
It began to get very frustrating but I was determined and wouldn’t give up – I knew the MLM Model was right for me.
So I went on searching and searching for an MLM company that met all the stringent criteria that, by then, I had set and that I believed were critical for long term success. I wanted to be confident that my work done now would continue to pay me for years to come and I’m sure you do too! It wasn’t easy and took me nearly 10 frustrating years to truly find a home. I reasearched over 100 companies looking for the best MLM company
Fortunately, eventually I found the right one for me. In the last five years I have enjoyed great success – suffice to say my wife and I enjoy the life of our dreams and do what ever we like everyday and run our global business from our solar powered sustainable home in the middle of nowhere – we can’t see a single house from our place, grow our own veggies and fruit – that was our dream!
I really enjoy helping lots of people overcome the financial challenges that seem to be on everyone’s doorstep, I am working from home when it suits me and travelling as much as I like. In 2009 we travelled to Japan, USA, Hawaii and Fiji! Our life is just so different now. What I really like is that my success comes from ‘supporting, inspiring and coaching’ my team rather than ‘managing’ and ‘sales’ in the conventional sense …. and I LOVE IT !!!
Why? ….. because I only work with motivated people who want to succeed in life and are prepared to do what it takes to see their dreams come true! It’s just so different from the corporate rat race and conventional business to which I would NEVER return – this is just too good!
